Job Description:
Role: HSEQ- HSEQ Superintendent
Location: Powai, Mumbai
Reporting relationship:
Reporting to: HSEQ Manager

Role Purpose:
The HSEQ Superintendent has the main function to assist ensuring safe, smooth, and efficient ship operations, in regard to the Quality functionality.
Roles and Responsibilities:
? Shipboard QHSE Responsibilities:
To carry out shipboard Internal audits / QHSE Inspections as required.
To review the minutes of the shipboard safety committee meetings / Masters Review.
To review and approve risk assessments as required.
To assist various departments in the Management of Change process and upkeep of the documentation.
To review / issue work permits and risk assessments for various tasks in liaison with the technical department.
To attend vessels from time to time for the purpose of carrying out shipboard inspections and /or for supervising hold cleaning/ tank cleaning, cargo operations or any other matters.
? Incident Management and Training:
To carry out Incident / near miss investigation as required.
To carry out shipboard and shore-based training of officers and crew in matters pertaining to tanker operations, quality management systems and other matters as deemed appropriate fromtime to time.
? QHSE Documentation and Communication:
To assist with revisions of QHSE manuals and / or preparation of new QHSE manuals.To assist with the preparation of various safety bulletins / safety alerts.
? Contingency Planning and Safety Culture:
To deal with contingencies. Specific responsibilities for contingency situations are described in Section 3 of the Contingency Planning Manual.
To participate and follow up on the Safety Campaigns, initiated from time to time.
? Additional Duties:
To carry out any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Knowledge & Experience
? Certificate of Competency II/2 (for Master/Chief Officer)
? Sailing experience as Master/ Chief Officer or Chief Engineer or, working in a HSEQ /
LPSQ function is favorable.
? Experience in Offshore Oil and Gas is beneficial
Skills & Education
? B.Sc. in Marine or Naval Engineering/ Master / Chief Engineer’s Certificate.
? Knowledge of Quality Standards, environmental and safety standards
? Knowledge of Legislation concerning Quality and Safety
? Good interpersonal and communication skills
? Knowledge of the local/regional maritime market conditions.
